One-line diagram of an electrical installation  

The one-line diagram is an electrical diagram that represents all the elements of an electrical installation. It shows the arrangement of light points, sockets and appliances in a building. According to the General Regulations on Electrical Installations (RGI), it is compulsory to have a one-line diagram for each electrical installation.

The one-line diagram also shows how the conductors are laid and how many conductors are used in the installation. It is usually attached to the electrical panels and position diagrams. An approved inspection body may ask for a one-line diagram to be drawn up during an inspection of the electrical installation.
